1 year of preparation, 3 weeks in Ostrava, 20 stages, 70 trucks of equipment and constructions, 122 concerts, more than 550 people from the technical crew. Colours of Ostrava are behind us, and we don’t understand that it’s gone by so fast. This year was in many ways more challenging for us than years before. There was tropical heat during construction, several challenging major changes to the music program as the festival progressed, and a final pack of thunderstorms and torrential rain. Weather is weather and we dealt with the artist changes as best we could. What we are happy about this year, though, is the technical shift on the stages. Worth mentioning is definitely the stage sound for Burna Boy, which required a lot of preparation and scouring all over Europe for equipment, only to end up.. well, as we all know, not entirely joyful. Regardless of Burna Boy, we focus on the sound set-up every year. So this year we’ve perfected it both on the main stage and at Liberty. But what we’d also like to highlight for 2023 is the video. We upgraded the entire video chain on the main stage to 4K this year, which was beautiful for us. And the LEDs and cameras also made the Drive stage deserving for the first time this year. Last but not least, we were very pleased with the “Colors” sides of the main stage. It is ｈｅｚｋy to see when the visuals turn into reality.
