This year’s festival season concluded in Munich at the Superbloom festival for the second time. At this multi-genre festival, we once again took care of the technical production, operation of three main stages, and stage management. Like every event we work on, it naturally came with its share of smaller and larger challenges.
One noteworthy aspect and challenge of this year’s edition that we would like to mention was the “crowdedness” of the main Olympic stage in terms of the number of trucks, crew sizes, and the quantity of risers. On Saturday, several major bands performed on the main stage simultaneously, sparking a battle for space. The risers, control desks, and decorations took up the entire preparation area and both technical wings, with a total area of 620 square meters. It was like playing Tetris in real life. We also played Tetris on the loading docks when on one loading dock with two positions, 11 trucks rolled in during Saturday. On Sunday, there were 9 trucks, including the setup for Imagine Dragons, which required 7 trucks. And what was the largest crew on stage at one point? Definitely the German artist Peter Fox, who had a total of 120 members, including the band, 50 dancers, touring crew, and technicians.
